The community of Radio Caca, a project promoted by Elon Musk's mother , was taken by surprise on Thursday night (9) after developers signaled that Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is unable to host their game 'Metamon ' and that it will be necessary to seek solutions in the Ethereum network .
In late November, the project topped the ranking of BSC's The Most Valuable Builder (MVB) program, which financially supports project development with part of the $1 billion balance of BSC's growth fund.
For this reason, the strong criticism leveled at the Binance network in a text published by the Radio Caca team generated a stir in the crypto community.
In the first version of the text released by journalist Colin Wu, the project hinted that it would be totally switching to the competing network. “Many BSC Gamefi games received a very bad reputation and quickly collapsed. Switching to Ethereum is the only way to get away from that”, says one excerpt.
BSC vs Ethereum
Radio Caca's criticisms of the Binance network continued: “Many crypto influencers only play Ethereum games. Many gave only ETH and no BNB . This limits our channels of exposure.” The same problem would be repeated in the case of investors who buy land in the metaverse. "Many are just on Ethereum and don't know anything about BSC or BNB."
Another point brought up by the team focused on the project's security, which could be more guaranteed in the Ethereum network. “Ethereum offers better protection against bot trading because of the high gas rates. This helps protect our market from bot spam.”
Criticism of Binance's network, however, seems to have gone too far and shortly thereafter, the text was taken off the air. Then the Radio Caca team went to Twitter to say that the old text that continued to circulate on social networks by screenshot was a draft version, published by mistake.
In the official version released shortly thereafter, Radio Caca excluded the part where it talks about the impending collapse and bad reputation of the games built at BSC, as well as the problem of network bots that could jeopardize the project's security.
In any case, the final text confirmed that Radio Caca is considering migrating their Metamon game to a second-tier Ethereum network, such as Arbitrum, as an interim solution before the release of the USM mainnet.
Radio Caca gained attention in June of this year after launching a collection of NFTs inspired by Maye Musk, mother of Elon Musk, and becoming the official manager of its “Maye Musk Mystery Box” collection. Within these boxes, the user received NFTs used to unlock content in the Universal Metaverse (USM) game metaverse.
In October, Radio Caca launched Metamon, its own play-to-earn game that in the future will be integrated into the larger USM universe. Within the game, the RACA token takes on the same role as the 'AXS' in Axie Infinity.
The project's promises and her relationship with Elon Musk's mother helped to enhance the token in November. That month, the asset broke a price record and appreciated by more than 300%.
But now at the end of the year, while Radio Caca's in-house team decides whether to follow the BSC or migrate to the Ethereum, the price of the cryptocurrency drops with each passing day. This Friday (10), the RACA is down 16% in the last 24 hours and is now worth $0.003, according to CoinMarketCap . That price is 69% lower than the historic high of US$0.01 reached by the RACA in mid-November.
