To celebrate Paris Saint-Germain’s tenth French championship title, the Parisian club and Jay Chou, superstar with hundreds of millions of fans in Asia, have launched an exclusive series of 10,000 NFTs. Called “Tiger Champs” in reference to the year of the tiger, the collection depicts the iconic big cat in club colors. The release is part of a collaboration between Paris Saint-Germain and Jay Chou uniting football and music. The NFT series launched exclusively on Crypto.com/NFT on June 23, 2022. This is the first Paris Saint-Germain-themed NFT collection to be released with Crypto.com. Among the 10,000 Tiger Champs NFTs, ten exclusive Legends depict one of the ten championships won by France’s most decorated club. These ten tigers depict one of Jay Chou’s favorite poses – the V sign for victory – while his left hand holds the 2021-2022 Hexagoal trophy. The background for the Tiger Champs Legends NFTs features graffiti art. The 1,970 Tiger Champs Premium NFTs stand out thanks to tiger poses inspired by ten different player celebrations. In the upper right corner is the Parisian star, which symbolizes the ten French championship titles won by the club. Finally, the Tiger Champs 8,020 base NFTs show the tiger making the “I love you” sign. For all these categories of NFT, there is a random allocation process based on around one hundred criteria (tiger pose, clothing, accessories, background with Parisian landmarks, etc.) that guarantees each buyer a completely unique NFT.

“It is an honor to continue my collaboration with Paris Saint-Germain. Football and music have the ability to break down barriers, whether geographical or linguistic. This NFT project will give fans a chance to win tickets to my show in Paris next year. I am pleased to act as a bridge between Chinese and Western cultures and promote the values of inclusion and solidarity,” said Jay Chou.

Fabien Allègre, Brand Director of Paris Saint-Germain, reveals that the combination of music and football, with support from Jay Chou, has already been a success. “We are delighted to see the results of this first collaborative project with Jay Chou, a loyal friend of the club and patron of the Paris Saint-Germain endowment fund. It’s the first time we’ve made such a large collection of NFTs available to fans. Over time, these NFTs will find their use in our common-base project in the metaverse.” The release of this series comes with a special NFT loyalty scheme. In addition to the opportunity for buyers to randomly receive an NFT, 10% of them will also receive a special gift related to the series. The “Tiger Champs” collection of NFTs is Paris Saint-Germain’s third venture into the world of NFTs, following the collaboration with Lucky Buddy in April 2021 and the 7th Ballon d’Or series launched a few weeks ago.
