Inter (BIDI11) announces acquisition of 50% of IM Designs

Inter (BIDI11) announces an agreement for the acquisition of equity interest in IM Designs, the purchase of 50% of the business is part of the M & As strategy, which seeks acquisitions of companies with a solid technological base and innovative profile. The founding partners will continue ahead management, whose operation will be conducted at Torre Inter, Inter's headquarters in Belo Horizonte. The effectiveness of the agreement depends on approval by the Central Bank. IM Designs is a company specialized in the development of immersive 3D technologies and tools for the creation of visualization projects for internal and external environments, through virtual reality (VR), reality augmented (AR) and mixed reality (XR). It has a partnership with the largest software provider in the engineering and architecture sector, Autodesk®, being part of a select group of companies with access to its Beta versions. In addition, it has a portfolio with large corporate clients.


According to João Vitor Menin, Inter's CEO, with the acquisition of a stake in IM Designs, the company starts to invest in new technologies to transform the customer experience (UX and UI) in its ecosystem and to remain as a protagonist in the offer of innovative and disruptive services in the Super App.

“In 2010, we did not interact with companies through a screen. The trend is that, very soon, people can use products and services through wearables that facilitate their interaction with the 3D world and that this no longer depends exclusively on the smartphone interface ”, commented Menin. The expectation is that Inter and IM Designs will be able to explore together the boundaries of the transition from interactions via 2D screens to immersive 3D experiences, in addition to improving the experience and maximizing the interaction time of customers with the Inter platform.

Gourmet Duo

On Tuesday, 4/13, Inter announced the acquisition of the operations of Duo Gourmet, a loyalty program in the food market, with operations in 13 cities in 10 Brazilian states and more than 500 partner restaurants. The operation will be conducted by Inter Shop, Inter's marketplace, and will rely on the experience brought by the brand's founding partners. The new investment, added to the recently announced partnership with the Delivery Center, will strengthen the value proposition for the customer and consolidate the company's food vertical. The closing of the deal is subject to approval by the Central Bank.More acquisitionsThis is the fourth acquisition announced by Inter in less than six months. In addition to Duo Gourmet, at the end of 2020, the company announced the purchase of 45% of Granito's operation, the means of payment (acquiring) segment and the control of Meu Acerto, which operates in the area of ​​debt renegotiation and Winback.
