The expert: Security increasingly important for companies

Published: June 28, 2022, 4:16 p.m. Updated: June 29, 2022, 11:06 a.m.Shootings and bombings are common in Sweden, statistics from, among others, the Crime Prevention Council and the Swedish Police Agency show. This has caused many businesses to review their security. – Many of those who today request our services do not have their own threat image against them – they just have the wrong neighbors, says security expert Magnus Ahde from Altum Security AB. Read more about how sectech takes security solutions to the next level A study from the Crime Prevention Council, Brå, states that Sweden is the worst affected country in Europe when it comes to fatal gun violence. In the study, Swedish fatal shootings have been compared with 22 other European countries during the period 2000 to 2019. Bombings have also been common in recent years, statistics from the police authority show. In 2021, 79 were reported in Sweden.

Increased demand for security

One consequence has been that the demand for physical security has increased. This is what Magnus Ahde, who has worked in the security industry for over 20 years and is currently a salesperson at Altum Security AB, tells us. – Because it is difficult to aim bombs at a specific recipient, everyone within a certain area risks being hit in the event of an explosion. So you don’t have to have a threat image towards you to be hit. And that means that more and more people realize that they need to protect themselves against that type of event, he says.

Stylish – and dangerous

From previously primarily having embassies and authorities as customers, Magnus Ahde and his colleagues, who are experts in security consulting and shell protection solutions, notice that other types of businesses also demand their services. – For example, such a thing as having a glass facade at one’s head office today can pose a major security risk. It’s neat – but very dangerous if there were to be an explosion.

Combination solutions

Altum Security is part of the security group Transfer Group AB, which in addition to shell protection solutions offers everything in physical security; from surveillance and security controls to alarms, and software solutions that simplify and streamline the overall offer. – Our strength is that our companies cover different parts of physical security and that we can therefore offer different types of combination solutions, explains Transfer Group CEO Pernilla Jennesäter. – For example, we recently made a combination solution at an embassy together with our sister company Sensec AB to protect both the building and entry. Sensec was responsible for X-ray and metal detection, and Altum for shelling and explosion protection, says Magnus Ahde.

Unique in high security

Magnus Ahde believes that there are few other companies in the industry that work as comprehensively with shell protection solutions as Altum Security. – Many focus on a specific product or solution, while we can deliver a variety of products in high security, everything from bulletproof windows and doors to panic rooms. That way we stand out, he says.
