Now the pace of sustainability work is increasing further with the ambition of a fully sustainable range in all stores by 2030. PBX is the Reitan Convenience living lab with the ambition to become the world’s most sustainable convenience. With PBX, you want to test and try your hand at finding new ways to sustainable choices. In the PBX store in Albano in Stockholm, there is a carefully selected assortment adapted to the needs of the customers and the limits of the planet. During the first year, both concepts and products have been tested by PBX based on tough sustainability criteria. Those who work well there are then taken out to Pressbyrån and 7-Eleven in order to drive a sustainable change in the entire business in that way. Sustainable future RCS’s ambition is for the entire Press Agency and 7-Eleven to offer a fully sustainable range by 2030. And by 2025, they should be leaders in sustainability on the Swedish convenience market. – The ambition with PBX is high and we want to lead the way towards the convenience of the future. We must encourage and enable our suppliers to dare to take steps in the right direction, show that change is possible, says Anna Wallenberg, CEO, Reitan Convenience in Sweden. – Sustainability issues are complex and multidimensional. But the fear of making mistakes must not stop us. The way forward is to do this together with others, says Malin Eklund, sustainability director, Reitan Convenience.The PBX store 1 year The result of the first year is positive. The PBX store currently has around 30 own products. Among other things, coffee from Lykke coffee farms in mugs completely without plastic and carbonated drinks from Coca-Cola in a packaging-free solution with refills. Sweets are sold in small packages, no products contain palm oil and cigarettes have been completely excluded from the range. The interior has, where possible, been sourced from recycled and recycled materials, and there are solar cells on the roof. Already today, several products have been passed on to 7-Eleven and Pressbyrån, including drinks, chocolate and grilled sandwiches. – In the long term, the ambition is for the results of RCS’s sustainability work to be passed on to the other six countries where we operate. That way, we can make an even bigger difference to contribute to a sustainable future, says Malin Eklund.
