DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Hidden for almost a century in the garret of St Thomas Church, Britain’s only surviving 19th Century Operating Theatre was rediscovered in 1956.

“Survival of an Early Nineteenth century Operating Theatre” by Raymond Russell, Guy’s Hospital Reports, 1957.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the rediscovery of the Old Operating Theatre, join the campaign to acquire the Grade 2* Listed Church of St Thomas the Apostle!

The House of Healing Development Project seeks to create an expanded museum of public health and medicine at the heart of the renowned hospitals of Guy’s and St Thomas’s.
